How To Easily Remove Blackheads Yourself

If you're like the hundreds of thousands of people who's confidence and self esteem suffers because of poor complexion, then you'll be pleased to know that there is a solution to your problem.

Blackheads are one of the most common skin complaints in the Western World. Teens are especially prone to this issue, but it can affect anyone of any age.

But it's easy to remove blackheads and get that complexion you truly deserve, you just need to follow the advice in this article and stick to your routine.

What Causes Blackheads?

A build up of oil and dirt in a blocked pore causes blackheads. The pores become blocked, oil is unable to reach the surface of the skin and the pore becomes backed up with the very substances the skin has been trying to expunge.

Puberty causes hormones to act unusually. This can lead to an over-production of hormones which can make the skin excessively oily - a major contributor to the problem of blackheads.

Remove Blackheads

The best way to do this is by a two step process. Firstly, you'll need to open the pores. This can be done by exposing the skin to steam. You can do so with a hot flannel over the face. Hot enough to make you sweat but not hot enough to scald you.

Once the pores are open you are in a better position to remove the blackheads. The best way to remove blackheads in the first instance is to use an adhesive strip. These are available in most chemist shops and pharmacies for a reasonable price.

Apply the strip to the affected area, normally the nose and T-zone. Leave it to 'stick' for a couple of minutes and then carefully lift it away from the skin.

If you have a look at the back of the strip, you'll see that it has lifted out your blackheads. Not pretty, but certainly reassuring.

Keeping Blackheads At Bay

The most important thing following blackhead removal is preventing the blackheads from returning. Lifestyle and diet are the two main factors that will influence your complexion.

Drink plenty of water, eat plenty of fruit and nuts.

Maintain an effective cleansing regime. Scrubbing the affected area gently using an all natural cleanser is good practice. Avoid using moisturiser in the affected area, as this will impact the problem.
